Geraldine Frances Anderson, 56, of Reno, passed away on August 27, 2010.  Known to most as “Gerry” or “Dini,” she was born September 17, 1953 in Massachusetts, the daughter of Robert and Patricia (McGowan) Elloyan, and spent her formative years in Virginia City, Nevada.  Gerry worked for Pacific Bell in California for 12 years, before relocating to Reno in 1992.  She then spent 17 years working for the Nevada Department of Motor Vehicles.

Gerry was preceded in death by her mother, Patricia; brother, Daniel Lydon and grandfather, Edward McGowan.  She is survived by her husband, Jarvis (Andy) Anderson; children Jennifer Brown (Garrett) and Dominica (Monica) Pisciotta; step-daughter, Jenni Reid; father, Robert Elloyan; grandmother, Dottie McGowan; siblings, Richard Elloyan (Sally), Lynne Whitson (Larry), Lisa Davis, Kelly Clausson, Maureen Lydon and John Lydon; stepfather, Jim Lydon; uncle, John McGowan; aunt, Maureen Cyr; sister-in-law, Yvonne Anderson; and five grandchildren.

Services will be held on Tuesday, September 7, 2010, at 1:00 pm at the Walton Funeral Home, 875 West Second Street, Reno.  Interment will follow at Mountain View Cemetery.  The family requests that in lieu of flowers, Gerry be remembered with a donation in her name to the Susan G. Komen Foundation – Northern Nevada, P.O. Box 20868, Reno, NV 89515-0868.
