William Rice, a long time resident in Reno, NV passed away on August 25, 2010, after becoming ill in 2005 with Cancer. He was born on November 29, 1952 in Grants Pass, OR to Harold and Lucile Rice. William graduated from Chico High. He worked at Colorite Plastics for fifteen years, where he met his wife Stephanie and were married in 1985. He went to work for Hidden Valley Manufacturing where he enjoyed his work there. He was a USSA Umpire since 1990. He also loved golfing and enjoyed playing in tournaments.

He is preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Stephanie, his son David Rice of Carson City, NV and his brother John of Yuba City, CA.

A graveside service will be held at Glen Oaks Cemetery in Chico, CA on September 4, 2010 at 1:00 PM with a reception to follow. A celebration of Williams life will be held in Reno, NV on September 11, 2010 at the home of Roy Floyd and Patti Allen at 11275 Cimarron Dr., Reno, NV 89508 at 2:00 PM. O’Brien-Rogers and Crosby Funeral Home have been entrusted with the arrangements.
