On October 15, 2011, Barbara died peacefully at Wynwood of Sparks. Barbara was born in Buffalo, New York to parents Pearl and Herbert Moltzan. She graduated from Mount Mercy Academy in 1959. She received her nursing degree from Mercy Hospital Graduate Nurse School in 1962. She moved to Reno in January 1966.

She spent more than 45 years as a RN, with most of those as the only nurse in a busy private practice. As a nurse, she was known for her compassion, understanding, and great rapport with her patients.

Barbara was caring and thoughtful friend loved by many. She was known for her ability to listen and not judge. She loved attending community concerts and events and getting together with friends and family. She was also an animal lover who believed that when one of her pets died, it opened a space for a new one in her home.

She is survived by her brother, Herbert Moltzan; and her daughters Mary Price of Fall River Mills, CA, Laurie Wall of Conifer, CO and Debbie and her husband Jack Johnson of Fort Morgan, CO. She also leaves granddaughters Angie Acker and family; Julie Wall and family; Lisa Carter and family; grandsons Brandon and his wife Kendall, and Kevin Johnson; and "adopted daughters" Kathy Larson and Tammi Chapman.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, November 19^{th at 3:00 pm at Hope Chapel, 1125 Stanford Way in Sparks.}
